REFUSE TO STAY LOCKED UP IN UNBELIEF

Greetings to you beloved one. It's another day to explore the word of God. If we trace this sin of unbelieve in the scriptures, we would have to look at its presence right from the beginning of creation in the garden of Eden. When God created Adam and Eve and put them in the garden of Eden with the command to have dominion over every creature and to eat of every other tree except one, he gave them an instruction which they disobeyed as a result of their unbelief.

Gen 3:1 " now the serpent was more subtile than any beast of the field which the Lord God has made. And he said unto the woman, yea, hath God said, ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, we may eat of the fruit of the garden but of the tree which is at the midst of the garden, God hath said ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest you die. And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not surely die for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as god's knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the tree there of and did eat and gave some unto her husband and he did eat"

From the verse, you see that Adam and Eve believed devil more than they believed God. If they believed when God told them not to eat of that tree that the day they eat it, they shall die, they would have withstood the devil's lie and never eat of the tree. However, to them, the testimony of the devil was more convincing than that of God, so they bought his lies resulting to disobedience. This disobedience was as a result of UNBELIEVE in God's word to them. From that day, man died a spiritual death which meant separation from God.

Unbelieve kept on walking among humans even to the time of Noah and the building of the ark. If the people believed that God was going to destroy the entire human race with water, they would have entered the ark. But as it was, it was only eight people- Noah and his family that were saved.

Even till the time of Moses when he was sent to lead the isrealites from Egypt to the promised Land, the scripture has it that their unbelieve kept them from entering the land of rest.

Hebrews 3: 16-19 " Who were the people who heard God's voice and rebelled against Him? All those who were led out of Egypt by Moses. With whom was God angry for forty years? With the people who sinned who fell down dead in the desert. When God made his solemn promise; they will never enter the land where I would have given them rest, of whom was he speaking? Of those who rebelled. We see then that they were not able to enter because they didn't believe"

These people couldn't enter the rest of God because of their unbelieve. They didn't believe God could actually lead them all the way to that land of rest through Moses. They only rebelled against God for forty years.

Till today, many people are still held captive in unbelieve. Many have refused to believe/accept this gospel been preached about our Lord Jesus Christ. They say to themselves, how can you say that all my entire life sins have been purged yet, I sin every day and the whole world is full of sin? To some they say, this message you are preaching is just like telling people to go on sinning since all their entire life sin has been forgiven. Well, even apostle Paul was accused of this very same thing when he said in Rom 3:8" why not say then let us do evil so that good may come? Some people indeed have insulted me by accusing me of saying this very thing. They will be condemned as they should be".  You see, it is this very kind of thought that is keeping they that think that way from seeing the light and joy of salvation. This thought build them up in unbelieve. You don't believe that all your sins have been forgiven, is there anything too hard for God to do? If God could destroy the entire human race with water couldn't he also be able to save the whole world with the blood of his son? Is there anything in existence or problem he cannot handle? Sin is a problem between man and God and he has shown he is able, merciful and a loving God by sending his own son to lay down his life for sinners after which he will blot all their transgressions and remember them no more. The problem therefore, was, if Jesus would be able to agree to face death. But he did!  So, if you are a sinner or consider your self one, rejoice and be glad for it is you that Christ came for not the good ones or those that think of themselves as good people. Jesus described these people who think they are good as a grave who on the outside look good but on their inside are rotten maggots. He said these knowing fully well that in his sight, all men are sinners condemned to death just that some are holding themselves up as good than others not knowing they are all the same. Do you really think God couldn't have saved man to this extent I have been explaining? Then let me tell you that that is why he is God Almighty. He doesn't work according to the ways and thoughts of men. David in Psalm 103:12 prophesied when he said" as far as the east is from the West, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us"(KJV). He was prophesying concerning what God would do with our sins after the coming of Christ. When he said this, Christ has not yet come but he saw into the future. He never even said, will remove but hath removed. This was a prophecy made in faith.

Paul also quoted one of David's  prophecies when he said in Rom 4:6-8" even as David also described the blessedness of the man unto whom God inputes righteousnes without works saying 'blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin(KJV). Good News put it thus: "this is what David meant when he spoke of the happiness of the person whom God accepts as righteous apart from anything that person does; happy  are those whose wrongs are forgiven, whose sins are pardoned. Happy are those whose sins the Lord will not keep account of"

Hallelujah! Wow! So there are those whose sins are forgiven, covered and not recorded? Who then could this people be? Did God choose some special people for this? My dear it wasn't written for some category of persons but to anyone that believes in Jesus in what he did through his baptism, death and resurrection. It is written concerning anybody that knows he/ she is sinful, cannot help him/herself not to sin and therefore depends solely on Jesus who has set him/her free.

This person who believes in what Jesus did has his sins forgiven, covered and not recorded. That was the extent Jesus went to save you, he left no traces of your sins you who believes in him. If man could become righteous through good deeds which comes as a result of keeping the whole law, Jesus wouldn't have had any need for coming. But because all men shares the sins of Adam and are automatically sinners irrespective of what you do or don't do, Jesus came to become your saviour. As your saviour, he demanded nothing from you but just to BELIEVE IN HIM. Since you can't help yourself no matter the number of times you resolve not to sin, believe in me who has been able to obey God even to death. I kept all his laws and comments and even laid down my life in the process as he commanded me. I alone have pleased God and satisfied his anger towards sin. It is hard for anyone to die for a good man not to talk of an evil man. But even while you are yet a sinner, I died for you that you may be forgiven. I am the way. It is only through me that you can be saved. No matter what you do to please God without first believing in me who satisfied his anger towards YOU, all you do is in vain. Come to me that you may have rest and peace in yourself. These are the words of Jesus to you who wants to be saved. Beloved, what other sacrifice or deed do you think you can make or do for God to accept you more than what Jesus did? What? Jesus made the highest sacrifice and the highest deed you can think of. It is only in him that you receive the forgiveness of your sins.

Heb 1:3 says" In the past, God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets. But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his son. He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God choose to possess all things at the end. He reflects the brightness of God's glory and is the exact likeness of God's own being sustaining the universe with his powerful words. After achieving forgiveness for human sins, he sat down in heaven at the right hand side of God, the supreme power".

It says after achieving forgiveness for human sins, he sat down. This is fact standing before you. KJV put it thus "having purged our sins, he sat.."  Even if you are Thomas, this is enough to make you jump on your feet and praise God. He is not going to forgive you but has already done that. It is only those whose faith on him is unwavering with regards to what he said he has done, have their sins forgiven, covered and not recorded. It not as result of what they did or didn't do but on what he (Jesus) has done.  Once you don't believe, your sins remains with you unforgiven, uncovered and with intact record. How can you neglect such a great salvation? because it's soo simple to be true? Heb 2:3 says" how shall we escape if we pay no attention to such a great salvation?

The choice is yours, whether to believe or not to believe. But on that day you would have to pay for your sins with your own life and blood just like Jesus paid for mine with his own life and blood because before a sin is forgiven, there must be a pouring of blood (Heb 9:22 --- indeed, according to the law almost everything is purified by blood, and sins are forgiven only if blood is poured out). SEE YOU SOON ON MY NEXT TOPIC" SHALL WE CONTINUE TO SIN THAT GRACE MAY ABOUND? LOVE YOU DEEPLY!
