You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross(Colossians 2:13-14)

There are charges made against every sinner. Those charges lead to one " being guilty" and condemned before God. If you will be truthful to yourself, you will accept the fact that when brought under God's law( commandments), you can't escape the judgment of God as a condemned sinner. However, because no sinner would go unpunished as stated by the word of God, God truly had to carry out his just and fair judgment on every sinner.
But here is the Good News for us, it is that while we were yet dead in sin, God brought us to life with Christ Jesus by forgiving us all our sins. He cancelled every charges of our sins, took it away by nailing it to the cross.
Now, who was nailed to the cross? Jesus!! Jesus was and is the Judgment of God for all our sins. God judged all the human race for their sins in one body called Jesus. He poured the sins of all men, into Jesus and judged Him. With this, God forgave all our sins thereby cancelled all charges against us as sinners. Hallelujah!!!!!
As a result, we have been punished/ judged in Christ. Simply put, God judged us in love. The Judgment of God on us is the death of Jesus on the cross.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Do you Believe the redemption of God through Christ?
